For families

A little preparation.
A more familiar day.

Helpful topics for new and returning families, organized so you can find what you need.

Here to help your family prepare. Use this guide to start a conversation with us. Sandy can provide the current family policies, supply list, and enrollment agreement for your child.

Preparing for your first day

A familiar goodbye routine, communication with teachers, and time to adjust can help a new place feel more comfortable. Talk with Sandy about the first-week plan and whether shorter days would suit your child.

Share your child’s interests, comfort preferences, and general routines with staff. For infants, discuss feeding, sleep, and the transition into care individually.

What to bring

Ask us for the current supply list for your child’s age. Useful items to discuss include:

  • Labeled changes of clothing appropriate to the season.
  • Indoor shoes when appropriate for your child’s stage.
  • Diapers or pull-ups, as applicable.
  • Labeled drinking cups and agreed feeding supplies.
  • Seasonal outdoor clothing.
  • Family photographs and comfort items when permitted.
  • Age-appropriate sleep supplies agreed with staff.

Confirm sleep supplies directly with Sandy. Items suitable for a toddler may not be suitable for an infant.

Food & snacks

Ask us how snacks, packed lunches, drinks, and feeding supplies are currently arranged, and what your family should provide each day.

Before your child starts, discuss allergies, food containers, labeling, and any infant feeding instructions directly with staff. Arrange a suitable private method for sharing sensitive feeding or medical information.

Drop-off & pickup

A clear arrival and pickup routine helps everyone know what to expect. Talk with Sandy about current arrival windows, attendance sign-in and sign-out, and how to let staff know about a change in plans.

Confirm authorized pickup arrangements and any late-arrival or pickup requirements before your child’s first day. Detailed security procedures are shared directly with enrolled families.

Health & wellness

Ask for the current health-documentation and immunization requirements before your child starts. Keep staff informed about relevant changes and arrange a private way to provide records.

If your child is unwell, contact the program about attendance and return-to-care requirements. Request the current illness and medication policies for the details that apply to your family.

Please do not send medical documents through this website.

Safety & communication

Knowing how to reach one another is part of a strong partnership. Keep your family’s contact information up to date, and ask Sandy how day-to-day updates and important notifications are shared.

Supervision, family communication, and emergency preparedness are important topics to discuss during enrollment. Detailed emergency and security arrangements are provided privately.

Holidays & closures

Request the current program calendar for holidays, winter and summer recess, and any early closing days.

Ask how weather-related closures are communicated, and review attendance and tuition arrangements in your enrollment agreement. Confirm dates with the program before making plans.

Daycare policies & family responsibilities

Familiar routines and clear communication help the day run smoothly. Talk with staff about labeling belongings, keeping supplies up to date, and sharing attendance or pickup changes.

Please review the current parent handbook and enrollment agreement for attendance, payment, absence, closure, and pickup policies. We’re happy to discuss questions before your child begins.

Positive guidance & emotional development

Children are still learning how to express feelings, manage frustration, and interact with one another. Our approach emphasizes respectful language, reassurance, and age-appropriate redirection.

A teacher’s presence helps a child work through difficult moments. The focus is on connection and guidance, rather than isolation or punitive time-outs.

Talk with Sandy about the program’s current positive guidance policy and how staff and families can support one another.
